MOSQUITO CONTROL LIQUID SURFACE FILM TECHNIQUE
HALT® is a specialized product containing renewable plant oils such as castor oil with innovative biodegradable
surfactants made from natural compounds.
HALT® is effective on mosquitoes and chironomidae midges that breed in standing water and require the
air/water interface in their lifecycle. Most larvae and pupae, will be controlled within 48 to 96 hours. Faster
control in water of higher temperature. With midge control, apply HALT® every two weeks.
Mode and Mechanism of Action

On application, an invisible biodegradable film is formed on the water surface and quickly spreads over
standing water habitats.

HALT®’s film reduces the surface tension of the water not allowing the mosquito larvae and pupae to
attach to the surface causing them to drown.

Emerging mosquitoes and midges are unable to fully emerge and will drown.

Control is achieved by physical action
