Goal: Determine the effectiveness of Magnet B and Saeta in table grapes
Location: Complejo Agroindustrial Beta SA, Santiago District, Peru
Crop: Table grape
Introduction
The table grape (Vitis vinifera L.) is the main item of Peruvian fruit export, according to ODEPA, there are currently around 21,000 Ha of the “Red Globe” variety, this type of grape being the most important in the country . The need to consolidate or increase markets requires a constant concern to improve product quality.
Magnet B complements the nutritional requirements of the treated crops and stimulates the production of root mass improvement.
Saeta is a systemic calcium phosphonate fertilizer that promotes plant vigor and improves yields.
Variables Studied
Berry diameter
Berry Weight
Botrytis incidence
Economic value
Variable 1: Berry Diameter (mm)
Magnet B improves berry growth, obtaining first place with an average radius of 22.59 mm, versus 22.03 commercial control (Set Fixx). Followed by Saeta , with an average radius of 22.42 mm.
Variable 2: Berry Weight
Magnet B improves the weight of berries, obtaining first place again , followed by Saeta both products with an average of 0.016, versus 0.015 in the commercial control (Set Fixx).
Variable 3: Botrytis incidence
Magnet B and Saeta obtained the lowest level of Botrytis incidence compared to commercial controls: Calbo and Set Fixx,
Variable 4: Economic Value
Magnet B and Saeta obtained 7.5% and 5.34% more economic value earned compared to commercial controls: Calbo, Liq Fool and Set Fixx.
Conclusions
It is concluded that the applications of Magnet B and Saeta increase the production of the vine crop, since they improve the weight and the diameter, unifying the delayed flowering to a uniform flowering.
The earned economic value of Magnet B was 4407.7 projected cases, followed by Saeta with 4319.4 projected cases, compared to the commercial control, which averaged only 4100.
- Five treatments and three repetitions were carried out for each one.
- The experimental unit corresponded to 1.0 in all treatments.
