CALCIUM SILICATE AND ORGANIC POTASSIUM

MUSTANG is a product with ExcelAg technology that has been formulated based on calcium silicate and potassium in an aqueous solution, which when applied to the crop contributes to increasing plant development and yields, providing calcium, silica, and potassium.

MUSTANG is a solution of calcium, potassium, and silicon indicated as a fortifier of plant tissues for foliar and/or root application, aimed at increasing crop tolerance to pathogen attack, improving fruit shelf life, and increasing crop resistance to biotic and abiotic stress by increasing fruit resistance to physical damage caused by rubbing, handling, etc.

The silicates in MUSTANG are an important source of highly soluble calcium, silicon, and potassium, which are also assimilable and absorbed by the plant.

It is recommended to apply MUSTANG preferably from the early stages of crop development, or when environmental conditions favor the establishment of diseases or during early fruiting to improve shelf life. In this case, it is suggested to carry out treatments of 2-3 applications at an interval of 7-10 days.

MUSTANG has been designed with specialized formulation technology to allow the absorption and translocation of key elements such as calcium and silicon, avoiding interference between them and maximizing their assimilation.

MUSTANG contributes to improving the structure of the “loaders” and to protection as a sunscreen. Unlike other products, MUSTANG has a neutral pH to optimize its effectiveness.

  • The mechanism of action of MUSTANG is through oxygen transport to the roots, helping in the oxidation of heavy metals; thus, when oxidized, they are not absorbed by the plant.

  • MUSTANG has greater effects on the absorption and translocation of various micronutrients and macronutrients. MUSTANG is incorporated into the cell walls (when the plant transpires, silicon forms a protective barrier).

  • MUSTANG not only offers physical protection to the plant but also induces plant defenses by increasing the level of unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid, which is an analog of jasmonate (a key substance in acquired induced resistance), and palmitoleic acid, which suppresses the germination of pathogenic fungi.

  • MUSTANG is deposited in the lumen, cell walls, intercellular spaces, and external layers in an amorphous form, and once deposited, it is immobile and does not redistribute. It is present in roots, leaves, and bracts (inflorescences).

  • MUSTANG is absorbed by plants as monosilicic acid Si(OH)4, transported by the xylem, and its distribution within the plant depends on the transpiration rate of its different parts.

Mode and Mechanism of Action

MUSTANG can be used in drench, foliar applications, and through conventional irrigation systems. Shake before using the product. Do not spray during hours of high insolation, preferably in the early hours of the day or at sunset.
